RODP Satisfactory Progress for Financial Aid Eligibility

A student enrolled in an online program must maintain a satisfactory grade to continue eligibility for Federal Financial Aid.  The following scale of progress is used to determine a satisfactory grade.

Grade Percentage of Completion

Remark

A 93-100 Satisfactory
B 85-92 Satisfactory
C 77-84 Satisfactory
D 70-76 Unsatisfactory
F 0-69 Unsatisfactory

If an RODP student receives a grade of "I" (incomplete), he or she will have the following trimester to complete the course for a grade.  If at the end of the following quarter, the course has not been completed and a grade assigned, the course grade will be considered an F (unsatisfactory) and a zero (0) will be calculated with the earned grades for the quarter in which the course was taken.  An average for the quarter will then be calculated.  If the Trimester grade is not a C or better, the student will lose his or her eligibility for financial aid until the failed quarter (423 clock hours) has been successfully completed.

Payment of Fees

Fees may be paid using cash, check or credit card.  If a student pays using an unhonored check by his or her bank, the student will be notified by the Center.  If fees are not paid within 15 calendar days of the date of the notice, the student will be withdrawn from class.  If payment is made within the allotted time period, the student will be assessed a returned check fee of $20, in addition to the Maintenance Fee.

 Veterans Deferment of Payment Eligibility

Service members, veterans, and dependents of veterans who are eligible beneficiaries of U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs education benefits or other governmentally funded educational assistance, subject to the conditions and guidelines set forth in Tennessee Code Annotated (TCA) 49-7-104 as amended, may elect, upon formal application, to defer payment of required tuition and fees until the final day of the term for which the deferment has been requested.  Application for the deferment must be made no later than fourteen (14) days after the beginning of the term, and the amount of the deferment shall not exceed the total monetary benefits to be received for the term.  Students  who have been granted deferments are expected to make timely payments on their outstanding tuition and fees balance once education benefits are being delivered, and eligibility for such deferment shall terminate if the student fails to abide by any applicable rule or regulation, or to act in good faith in making timely payments.  This notices is published pursuant to Public Chapter 279, Acts of 2003, Effective July 1, 2003.

Pursuant to TCA 49-7-2301 and 49-7-2302, students called to active military or National Guard service during the semester are entitled to a full refund or credit of mandatory fees.
