Admission Requirements

Any person who is 18 years of age and has a job objective may apply for admission to the Center.  Application forms can be obtained at the Center's Student Services office.  It is recommended that the financial aid application process be initiated at the time of admission.  Applicants admitted without a high school diploma or GED will be enrolled for one (1) quarter on probation.  At the end of the first quarter, their progress will be evaluated and a recommendation will be made for the following quarter.  Students are strongly urged to complete their GED requirements within the first six (6) months of enrollment. Non-residents of the State of Tennessee are eligible to enroll during normal open enrollment periods.

Admission Procedures

Individuals interested in enrolling at the Center should submit an application to the Center.  If immediate enrollment is not possible, the applicant may be added to a waiting list on the date it is received by the Center.  At the time of application, the applicant should complete a financial aid application - is so desired.  Applicants should report to the Student Services office on the date and time assigned for orientation.  Applicants for the Practical Nursing program should refer to the Nursing Program enrollment procedure. Each prospective student will be notified when his or her enrollment date is near.

Credit for Previous Training

Previous educational training and/or occupational experience will be evaluated by the student's instructor and the student will be enrolled in training at the student's current proficiency level.  The time normally required for training will be adjusted accordingly.  Training completed in high school, at a technical institute, college or other training environments will also be evaluated toward completion requirements where applicable.  The student must supply documentation and/or evidence of training or proficiency to their instructor at the time of review.
